Creating comics can be a fun way
for students to develop their skills for planning a storyline. Comic creation
is also a good way to get reluctant writers started on creating a story. Professor Garfield is a great website for creating
your own stories: you can choose the characters, the props, the background and
add speech bubbles. It is easy to use and you can save your work. Strahovnik
& Mecava (2009) explain the benefits of storytelling when combined with
technology, especially with Web 2.0 technology. As they see it, storytelling
can help students develop communication skills as most of these tools
facilitate the creation of user-generated content and its publication.
