WARMER

T will ask sts which of the novels read so far is their favourite and why.

Then the class will be divided in four groups: one group for each story (If you have dealt with more than four stories you can divide the class accordingly).

WHAT IS NEXT

Sts will share present their work orally. The mind map will be projected as they are speaking. Then sts will print their work and exchange it so everybody has a mind map of all the stories.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Group work- Everybody in the group has to participate.

The mind map has to contain the setting (time and place), description of characters (ideas bulleted), the conflict and resolution.

Correct use of tenses.

Vocabulary choice.

Choice of an appropriate diagram.

The ability to use key words and short sentences. It is a mind map, not a narrative.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURES

Level: 6^th form

Age: 11-12

Objective:  To narrate past events using pictures.

WARMER

Sts have learnt the simple past and connectors to narrate events, so they are going to work on a project based on pictures. T has already asked sts to bring photos of their last holidays saved in a pendrive or CD.

To start with sts are going to work in pairs and share their experiences.

WHAT IS NEXT

In pairs, sts will share their productions and write a brief comment on the classmate’s project. For example: I am happy you visited Bariloche in summer. It is a beautiful place. My favourite photo is the one you are climbing the mountains because you look ………Congrats on your work. I really liked your album.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Include at least 20 photos and a short description:“Tell the story behind the picture.”

Correct use of the past tense and connectors.

Level: 3^rd form

Age: 9-10

Objective: Students have to give instructions to get to a place and invent a comic showing those directions.

Recycled language:Excuse me, How can I get to the….?  turn right, turn left, go past, go straight, take the first….the second…

Prepositions of place.

WARMER

Students will work in pairs. They will get the map of their town and they will have to explain how to get to school from different places.  T wil assign the place from where to start and students will practise giving directions.

Students will make a big poster to display in the hall of the school by printing the comics and showing others different ways of getting to school.

Working with D-volver

Level: 2nd form

Age group: 8-9 

Objective: To revise some functions of the language seen during the year.

• Introducing myself.
• Talking about hobbies.
• Expressing likes and dislikes.
• Expressing abilities. 

 WARMER

The teacher will reflect with the students on the functions of the language learnt so far. T will write on the board the functions of the language on one side and on the other side examples. Students will have to match them and provide more examples.

WHAT'S NEXT

T will show the videos to the students without showing the "directors"  and they have to guess who have created the videos based on the information given in the stories. Teacher will upload all the videos to the class’ blog.

How to use Cacoo

How to use Cacoo

Cacoo is a free online diagram tool for creating sitemaps, flowcharts, mind maps, wireframes, UML models, greeting cards, etc. It is designed to be user-friendly and easy to use, but still versatile.

Cacoo

1) Access the following site  https://cacoo.com/lang/es/ and write your e-mail address to obtain an account. An e-mail will be sent to verify your address and you have to follow the link and write your full name and a password. Click on sign up and your registration will be completed . Another option is to sign in using Facebook or google.

2) Click on “create a new folder”. When you finish a project you can save it in that folder. Then click on “create a new diagram.”

3) A panel will be displayed and you can choose the diagram you want: mind maps, greeting cards, sitemaps, flowcharts, networks, UML, database, business, office layouts, electronics, user difined templates or purchased templates.

4) Once you have chosen your diagram, you can start designing your project. On the right, there is a toolbar that allows you to change the arrows, the fonts, the size and the colours. 

5) When you finish your work, click on “export” and you will have different options like exporting your diagram as a PPT, PDF, PNG, etc.

6) You can also save your project by clicking on “save diagram” by writing a title and saving it in a folder. Your diagram will be saved in the webpage and you can share it with others.
